The actor who played Rev. Eric Camden on the WB show “7th Heaven,” is reportedly being investigated by New York police for confessing — on tape — that he had sexual contact with several children, according to TMZ.

Collins’ wife Faye Grant — with whom he is currently embroiled in bitter divorce proceedings — reportedly taped the actor during a therapy session where he admitted to molesting an underage girl and exposing himself to two others.

According to the TMZ report, at least one of the girls was a relative of Collins’ first wife.

In addition to his work on “7th Heaven,” Collins has also had roles on “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and the ABC Family show “The Fosters.”

Collins was in Atlanta recently as a panelist at DragonCon, talking about his experience shooting the “Star Trek: The Motion Picture.”

Divorce proceeding, probably a false accusation, but you have to investigate it anyway. If poor people have to obey the law and suffer punishment if they don't, then the rich and powerful ought to be punished for a crime like this as well. People lie in divorce proceedings, but again, this accusation is such that it must be looked into. Hopefully, prayerfully, it's not true, not for his sake but for the children...

Similar allegations didn't stop R. Kelly, and Michael Jackson is still held in high regards.....by some....not many. Maybe he can work with Woody Allen.

@Jazzpman There are no Catholic Reverends. And anyway, on this show he played some kind of generic reverend that never used scripture or talked about the founder of the church, Jesus Christ. No telling what, if any, church he was affiliated with. And third, he was a reverend on TV, not in real life, where the child molestation occurred.

I notice that of all the roles that he has played, TMZ was quick to point the role of reverend to tie with the alleged offense.

And last, yes, it is someone he is in a divorce conflict with that came up with these tapes, so...maybe a little suspect?
