The driver of the car told him she was with Gladys Knight and they were on the way to a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints choir performance, according to a story from the Associated Press.

Knight, who lives in Las Vegas, is a Mormon convert and the officer was told she was speaking at the event.

When Rogerson told the driver it was his birthday, Knight got out of the car and sang “Happy Birthday” to him.
