The new Mr. Clean is bald, buff, black and he’s from Atlanta

Mr. Clean just got a makeover.

Atlanta native, Mike Jackson is the new face of Mr. Clean, having won a national competition as the man who best embodied the bald, earring wearing icon that has represented Proctor & Gamble’s Mr. Clean all-purpose cleaner since the 1950s.

Jackson resembles the almost 60-year-old icon.

He is bald, buff and wears a gold earring, but unlike the old Mr. Clean, Jackson is African American.

In addition to receiving $20,000 and a year’s supply of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, Jackson earned a trip to New York City to shoot a 2017 limited edition Mr. Clean calendar.

Jackson told Yahoo Beauty that he saw the contest for Mr. Clean on Instagram and felt that he really embodied the character.

“I’m actually kind of a neat freak…and kind of OCD in my home,” said Jackson.

He enjoys working out, traveling and reading. He watches Science Channel, History Channel, ESPN, and Family Guy. In a statement, he said it was a dream come true to become the next Mr. Clean.

As part of the gig, Jackson is headed to the Super Bowl in Houston on Feb. 5 for the debut of a sexy, new Mr. Clean commercial.

We won’t be seeing Jackson in the commercial. The ad features the animated version of Mr. Clean, showing off some new moves and getting diiiirty.

Jackson will continue making special appearances as Mr. Clean and you can always get your hands on that limited edition calendar.

Wait a minute! The HOT black guy is in the calendar but the cartoon guy is white? What sense does that make? Make them both black! We want to see the hot new Mr Clean dance like the cartoon Mr Clean and I may or may not want less clothes on him 😉

@Thelma My guess is the commercial was finished long before the contest wrapped up since they were still holding contests around the country in December.  I imagine going forward they will revamp commercials.

Damn....even Mr. Clean is pandering like Hillary when she proclaimed she always carries "Hot Sauce" on an all black radio show. Why didn't she say she always carries Fried Chicken and Newport cigs?

With that womanly earring, looks like Mrs.Queen.

Really? Why?
Really? Why?

Why won't we be seeing the new "winner" Mr. Clean in commercials?

Why is he only available for special appearances and the calendar?

I don't want to play the race card, but a black animated Mr. Clean can now be on commercials since the winner is black.  NOTE:  I would also be asking these questions even if the winner was Asian, Hispanic, etc.

@Really? Why? The commercial was in production long before the contest wrapped up in January 2017.

@Really? Why? I've always had sort of thing of Mr. Clean. There's something sexy about a man who likes to clean and also happens to look great in a tight-fitting white tee shirt and jeans.  Will he be making house calls? Lol.
