Days after Tamron Hall walked away from a multi-million dollar deal to stay at NBC, the former “Today” show co-host is cleaning house.
Hall took to social media to announce that she is donating her “Today” show wardrobe to Housing Works, a charity she has supported for many years.
Hall thanked everyone for messages on social media and expressed her gratitude for their support. “These are good times for everybody and good times for my favorite organization, Housing Works,” she said. She announced that she has spent all day packing up work clothes and party clothes, including shoes by Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, for Housing Works.
Tuesday was Hall’s last appearance on NBC’s “Today’s Take,” the 9 a.m. show she co-hosted with Al Roker. The show was cancelled to make room for NBC’s new hire, Megyn Kelly, who will make her network debut in September.
Both Hall and NBC took the high road issuing statements of appreciation, but the National Association of Black Journalists issued a statement suggesting that the NBC’s move was viewed by industry professionals as “whitewashing. The organization has requested a meeting with NBC leadership to discuss the dismantling of Hall’s top-rated show.
